FAQ

Questions people ask
before their first notarization.

Is a document notarized through e-Notary legally valid?

Notarizations are performed by a court-commissioned notary under the rules that govern remote notarization, following the same core requirements as an in-person act. Where those rules apply, the result is a recognized notarial document — and if you have a specific use in mind, we'll help you confirm it's covered before you pay.

How much does it cost?

The app is free to download. You only pay the notary's fee, which each notary sets themselves — so you can compare rates and negotiate before you book.

What documents can I notarize?

Affidavits, deeds of sale, special powers of attorney, acknowledgements, and most documents that require a notary. If a document isn't eligible, the app tells you before you pay.

What do I need to get started?

A government-issued photo ID, a device with a camera, and the document you need notarized. That's it.

How long does it take?

Most notarizations are completed in a single live session of about ten minutes, available whenever a notary is online.

Can other parties or witnesses join?

Yes. Additional signatories and witnesses can be invited into the same recorded session so everyone signs together, wherever they are.

Can I use my notarized document abroad?

Your document carries a tamper-evident PKI seal that anyone can verify. For use overseas you may still need authentication (apostille), which we can guide you through.
